Looking forward (Update v1.2)


Hello, long time no see!

Progress on my own project is moving along nicely, but now I've been bumping into some hurdles with performance regarding this sprite system. So, it's time to get back to this plugin and work on update v1.2 which I'm planning on implementing a whole new system along with these performance optimizations. 


OPTIMIZATIONS

The goal is to optimize this to handle larger worlds since my own project features a bigger world, so one of the things I'm looking into is a wacky automatic LOD system for the sprites. I hope this can improve a bit of GPU frame time without introducing a lot of overheads. 


FIRST PERSON SPRITES

The new system is for handling first person sprites, this will be more of an animation controller. My first idea is to create a state machine of sorts, which will handle transitions. I've a lot of testing to do before I feel like I can add it to this plugin. I appreciate your ideas or wants/needs for this system, don't hesitate to comment!


Currently there's no planned date for this update release, I intend to update the plugin when I feel all the planned changes above is working as intended! I've also added a link to my roadmap for this plugin on the home page, if you want to see what I'm currently working on!
